Accreditation is primarily a means by which schools make themselves accountable to an accrediting agency as to the quality of education they provide. BGUSM is committed to excellence in education and is actively pursuing accreditation at this time. We do not limit ourselves, however, to merely meeting the standards of accreditation; we seek to exceed them.
The process of accreditation takes a number of years to complete. However, although BGUSM is not yet accredited, this does not mean that course work units from BGUSM are not transferable to other institutions.
Whether or not an institution accepts courses from another school is principally dependent on the institution to which a student transfers. When an institution considers whether to accept classes from other institutions, it typically evaluates how closely the content, number of classroom hours, and course work in question parallel their own courses. Also, an institution evaluates how well the student performed in the courses in question (i.e. what "grades" the student attained for the courses).
If it is your intention to transfer classes from BGUSM to another institution in the future, we suggest that you contact that institution and discuss with them their policies for accepting course work from other schools.
